Your overland journey from Konkan coast to Karnataka’s interior constitutes an escape from the heart of India’s travel destination would take around 09 days tour and also offer you an amazing opportunity to explore the popular attractions of tour as Gorkana Beach, Hassan, Halebid, Belur and the Kingdom of Mysore was ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty , a powerful state in the southern Deccan that defied the British until the very end of the 18th century. The tour offer you a great expreince of India, a passage  through remote countryside of farming villages in the deep interior of the Deccan Plateau, the spine of India. The experience by cycle and the landscape from the shore Konkan to Mysore is unique experience among the cycling routes to undertake on the Indian subcontinent. With each peddle on the route to add memorable chapters to the trip of your life!


Cycling / Terrain

Daily cycling average distance between 40 to 60 kilometers each day. Instead of giving a certain number of kilometers each day, we mention total distances between the destinations and leave the choice of cycling distances to our guests, the supporting vehicle will always be there at your service. En-route we will have bottled water and juices after every 15 to 20 kms available in the supporting vehicle, which will always follow the cyclists. . If at any point riding seems a little hard, the supporting vehicle takes you for as long or as little as you wish it to.

Weather

    Goa to Bangalore
    (08 Nights / 09 Days)

    Goa – Karwar – Gokarna Beach – Hassan – Halebid – Belur – Mysore - Bandipur - Cochin

      Day 1: Goa - Palolem – Karwar (Cycling-45 kms)

    We bid an adieu to Goa and via the streets that overlook the sea we enter into the state of Karnataka. The language changes here, and you can witness the European influences fading away, and all your surrounding becoming truly south Indian now. Await the pleasing surprises. We stay overnight in Karwar

      Day 2: Karwar – Gokarna Om Beach (Cycling-46 Kms) 

    On several little waves like streets we proceed further on towards our south. While biking all our way down towards the day’s destination we halt at the salt lagoon near Gokarna to watch the female workers working hard. After a few more short sharp hikes we go downhill to the enthralling Om Beach. We stay overnight in Gokarna.

      Day 3: Gokarna Beach – Murudeshwar (Cycling 60 Kms) 

    To avoid the heat for the latter part of the day we start early for this slightly long trip. At the end of it you’ll be stunned when you catch the view more than 80 meters high Gopuram of the Hindu temple and the largest Shiva Statue in India, placed on a little land that projects out from the sea. We stay overnight in Murudeshwar.

      Day 4: Murudeshwar – Kundapura (Cycling 50 Kms) 

    We start our day for the first few kilometres directly from the beach, getting a close view of the fishermen and the little villages. On our way we may visit an Emu farm. Our stay inn is around 8km from Kundapura. We stay overnight in Kundapura.

      Day 5: Kundapura – Hassan (Cycling 20 Kms) 

    A wagon is arranged to visit Hassan; we hike for more than 1000m to reach the Deccan plateau. The decor changes vividly. While biking, we drive pass a forest and wildlife area which offers several points of interest on the way. We will stay here for the next two nights in Hoysana Village Resort located on the outskirts of the bustling town of Hassan. We stay overnight in Hassan.

      Day 6: Hassan – Halebid - Belur – Hassan (Cycling 60 Kms) 

    Today’s trilateral biking tour will take you to visit the famous ancient Hindu temples and historical sites of the Kings of the Hoysala Dynasty of the 12th century at Belur and Halebid.

      Day 7: Hassan – Mysore (Drive 80 Kms/ Cycling 40 Kms) 

    On the day 7th we arrive at one of the most fascinating towns of South India. Due to the long distance we start early, riding almost continuously downward all the way along, trailing more than 300mts of altitude. We halt at Krishnarajanagara and continue for the last 40 km to Mysore to avoid the heavy traffic on 4-lane highway.  We will stay at the Viceroy hotel near the Maharaja’s Palace for the next two nights.

      Day 8: Mysore (Cycling 40 Kms) 

    In the Morning we offer a short cycling trip to Srirangapatnam to visit the summer palace of Tipu Sultan, some temples and to have an unusual boat ride on a small river. Back in town we visit the splendid Maharaja’s Palace. In the evening it is shopping time at fabulous and colourful Devaraja-market.

      Day 9: Mysore – Bangalore (On time transfer Bangalore to board the flight for onwards destination.)
