We start our excursion from the ‘The City of Dreams’; Mumbai to Goa the ‘Pearl of The East’. The awestruck trip takes you through the splendid shoreline of the western India, diverse topography, Temples and hamlets. The ride is a perfect blend of Adventure, Culture, Cuisine and Antiquity. The trip will be divided into two sessions, morning and evening. The morning ride is a swift ride. Our escorts will ride along with you followed by our support vehicle. You’ll encounter rare uphill trials but later are comforting downhill declines. Once you reach, you can hit the sandy beaches, relish the cuisine, feast on the cocktails and enjoy Goa. The tranquilizing experience will leave you mesmerized and enthralled with a magical experience.
Cycling / Terrain
Daily cycling average distance between 40 to 60 kilometers each day. Instead of giving a certain number of kilometers each day, we mention total distances between the destinations and leave the choice of cycling distances to our guests, the supporting vehicle will always be there at your service. En-route we will have bottled water and juices after every 15 to 20 kms available in the supporting vehicle, which will always follow the cyclists. . If at any point riding seems a little hard, the supporting vehicle takes you for as long or as little as you wish it to.
Weather
January to mid-April and October to December is the best time to cycle from Mumbai to Goa. Average temperatures range from max of 35°C and minimum of 25°C. Please bring a sun hat, sun cream and sunglasses. The mornings and evenings are generally cool and mild. Please bring a jumper /windcheater and a sweater/shawl. Mumbai - Kashid - Srivardhan - Harnai Beach - Hedavi Beach - Ratnagiri - Ambolgad - Malvan - Goa
Day 1: Arrival Mumbai | (By International Flight) |
Arrive in Mumbai. Upon arrival our representative will assist you and you will be transferred to the hotel. You can discover the weather-beaten historic streets of Colaba and areas close by. Start the day from Gateway of India, a massive memorial at the perimeter of the sea, on way to the Colaba shopping street stuck with small shops selling trinkets and antiques. Other places of visit are Flora fountain, National Gallery of Modern Art, Jahangir Hall and full of classy boutiques, bookshops, galleries and cafes. Tonight at dinner we will meet to get familiar with the entire team and a quick brief of the routes and about safety tips.
Day 2: Mumbai - Kashid | (Cycling-40 Kms) |
Kashid is a beach town and is one of the most humble and relaxing destination off Mumbai. To beat the Bombay traffic we take a short transfer in the shuttle and then ride on the bikes. On first day is not too hilly and difficult; therefore, you can focus on the great views of paddy fields, green countryside mild hillocks en-route. You can enjoy the bicycle route through dense of tall trees and beautiful open views of the sea are seen. On arrival we check into Resort, close to the beach. This place is easy going having relaxed. After lunch, we move out to see Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, an old Jewish synagogue, wonderfully clean and unhurt beaches and a few temples in the locality. The place is well known for local Konkani food and in evening enjoy the dinner with seafood.
Day 3: Kashid - Srivardhan | (Cycling 30 Kms) |
Morning we start ride through the side of the windy Konakan seashore to reach next destination, Srivardhan. The route trails are mostly flat one side you will see the sea and other side you will see casuarina tree. There will be little humid weather along the coastline. As per your choice if you don’t feel comfortable riding you can take the drive on the support vehicle. By lunchtime we reach Srivardhan and check into one of the beach resorts. The resort for stay is simple but it comfortable and beautiful to stay out here.
Day 4: Srivardhan - Hernai Beach | (Cycling 50 Kms) |
This morning we take drive in our support vehicle to cover some distance and later we get on cycle and reach Harnai beach. This destination is untouched and you will not find more tourist rush out here. On arrival you will check into the resort. Later we explore the local sightseeing of Harnai beach, Burundi beach, Suvarnadurg Fort and the Durga Temple. Evening we will visit Harnai fishing village is most interesting scene here you will see hundreds of colourful boats comes in the evening.
Day 5: Hernai Beach - Hedavi Beach | (Cycling 50 Kms) |
The distance from Hanai to Hedavi we cover in our support vehicle and half distance by cycle. The long 75 km beach provide a scenic ride for the day. On the way we pass through fishing villages with large fishing nets with crowd of colourful houses and clean beaches. During monsoons this place looks beautiful. On arrival you will check into the hotel. Evening you have your own choose either walk along the beach or prefer to stay in the hotel to enjoy the view of beach.
Day 6: Hedavi Beach - Ratnagiri | (Cycling 35 Kms) |
Ratnagiri is one of the most known for gateways from Mumbai and small beach town. Here you meet the local people who can thoroughly tell you about this area. Further we proceed to visit Karthateshwar Temple, Lakshmi Keshav Temple, Beaches and the Jaigad Fort is main highlight of Ratnagiri town.
Day 7: Ratnagiri - Ambolgad | (Drive 80 Kms/ Cycling 45 Kms) |
Today you will cycle along the coastal route from Ratnagiri to Anbolgad and you will find en-route many difficult in some routes. The routes for biking are mostly flat and topography. En-route you will see many coconut trees, fishing villages through cycling. On arrival Ambolgad you will check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8: Ambolgad - Malvan | (Cycling 50 Kms) |
Morning start cycling early to reach the famous town of Malvan situated at the edge of Arabian Sea. This place is known famous coastal cuisine and beauty. This place has a few sightseeing options like Tarkarli Beach, Sindhudurg Fort, Rock Garden, Vetal Temple and snorkeling facilities. Here you can enjoy the adventures snorkeling and scuba diving acitivity. The water is crystal clean and one can see corals and colourful marine life close the edge of the Sindhudurg Fort, We will see the houseboats here and these boats are basic furnished but have an open deck to relax with all basic facilities.
Day 9: Malvan - Goa | (Cycling 60 Kms) |
Today is our last day on cycling and we reach Redi. We visit the fort at Terekhol. This fort is located on the Goa-Maharashtra border in Redi village. It is situated on a hill near the seashore. The King of Sawantwadi built Terekhol Fort situated on the northern bank of the Terekhol River. The tranquillity of the place is accentuated by the confluence of the serene sea and the river. On arrival Goa you will check into hotel for overnight stay.
